Jewish Studies Teacher – JET (Jewish Experiential Team)
Description:
Key Roles & Responsibilities
High School JLL Events
Assist with planning and running Grade-specific JLL camps and special days, including developing and delivering tochniot and handling administration.
Co-develop and deliver engaging informal JLL lessons with the Heads of JET, JLL, and High School JLL.
Deliver the Tefillah programme for the high school.
Plan and run activities for festivals and holidays with staff and student leaders.
Engage pupils during break-time initiatives such as “Parsha Schmooze”.
Support JLL, Hebrew, and Israel Education teams in delivering experiential Jewish learning.
Whole School JLL Events
Co-develop age-appropriate Tefillah programmes with JLL leadership and school heads.
Assist with Jewish holiday campaigns and school-wide programming.
Support general school camps with relevant Jewish content (e.g. Grade 6 Camp, Grade 10 Orange River Trip).
Help coordinate JLL-approved external events (e.g. Shabbos Project).
Required Skills & Experience
Education & Jewish Knowledge
Degree and/or experience in Jewish education.
Orthodox role model with deep Jewish knowledge and passion.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
Able to inspire, mentor, and build strong relationships with pupils.
Professional, team-oriented, and collaborative.
Administration & Organisation
Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
Reliable, self-driven, and accountable.
Professionalism
Upholds high standards of ethics and behaviour.
Willingness to work flexible hours.
